Ella Valentine

Ella Valentine is an award-winning screenwriter, journalist and poet based in London. She started writing at the early age of 8 and hasn’t stopped ever since. Ella has written and directed three short films, and her feature film “As Strange As Angels” (formerly “Revolution X”) has won multiple international awards, including Best Sci-Fi Film of 2023 at the London Independent Film Awards.

After over 15 years of freelance writing and editing for online newspapers and magazines, in 2024 Ella founded Horror Valentines - the world’s first film magazine dedicated to women in horror and thriller, of which she also serves as an editor-in-chief.

Ella’s favorite writer is Jack Kerouac and she loves everything about The Beat Generation. Her favorite writing style is spontaneous prose and she isn’t big on rules. Writing has to come from the deepest and darkest places in the human soul. “The more honest you allow yourself to be with yourself, the better your work will be.” She believes that ugly is better than beautiful, as long as it’s truthful.
