Tahira Ali
Hi! My name is Tahira Ali and I’m one of the editors for the Poetry Lighthouse Foundation. I’m also an editorial writer for the Mirror and Daily Express and live in London. Moving across the UK growing up, I found companionship and understanding in literature. Stories became a constant, as well as an adventure. I love to read more than anything. It is the most magical, romantic thing to do. I love it so much I made it my BA degree - where I also specialised in Creative Writing and poetry.
I now have three poems published in our volume 2 anthology and plan to publish more. When writing my first collection, I explored the Confessional and other forms, falling in love with the Pantoum and Ghazal. My other hobbies include drawing, visiting museums and galleries, exploring new places and knitting in the Winter.
I look forward to reading more, finding the process of editing equally exciting and inspiring. My current favourites are Sylvia Plath are Keats but I plan to explore non Western writers too.
