Andreas Koellner

Hello! I’m a poet from Germany, living in Leipzig which is historically and currently a city of literature (known for letterpress, publishers, book fairs and authors – e.g. Goethe studied and lived here, Schiller even wrote his famous „Ode to Joy“ nearby). In my youth I began to write poetry, but was also interested in philosophy, so after school I studied Philosophy as well as German Language and Literature.

I developed a preference for word plays and spirituality. My writing-motto: in worte fassen / um loszulassen (put into words / to let loose).

I had several publications in literary magazines / anthologies. My last book is called „Wortufer“ (Berlin 2024). I also won some Prizes like Lyrix-Prize (2010), Zeilen.Lauf-Prize (2021), Kammweg-Prize (2025).

Recently I wrote a few Haiku in German and English for a project called „DreiEins / ThreeOne“ (or simply „3-1“) that contains the connection of Haiku- and Contemplation-Art: Three Lines, One Haiku. Some of them are published in „Geist / 6“ (Montreal 2024), but you can also find them on my instagram:
