Antje Bothin
Dr Antje Bothin is a German-born poet and published author with an academic background who lives in Scotland, United Kingdom. She is a member of the Federation of Writers (Scotland) and The City of Poets Glasgow and has published her excellent work in several books, anthologies, journals, magazines and e-zines. For example, her poems appeared in Hannie Rouweler’s fantastic showcase of international female poets ’The sea belongs to 1000 voices’ and her wonderful poem ’Voices’ received a special mention in a review by Jernail Singh Anand from India. She was also published in 'WORDS, FLOWERS, female voices' and in 'Glasgow's City of Poets Annual Review 2024'. She contributed to a charitable book created by Scottish author Miller Caldwell called ’Penned Poetry for Parkinson’s Research’. Her brilliant poetry is also featured in a contemporary anthology edited by Scottish poet Fin Hall called ‘Blotters’ Jotters’ and in the Taj Mahal anthology edited by Sourav Sarkar as well as in an anthology about ancient Greek gods by Rewritten Realms with the title of ’Immortal Hymns’, 'The Specbook 2024' and the Dove Tales Anthology 2024 'Kiss Warrior Kiss'.
She has a passion for writing poetry about nature and wellbeing and published amazing poems and stories in magazines such as 'The Poetry Lighthouse', 'PENning‘, ‘Disabled Tales’, ‘The Turning Leaf Journal’, ‘The Globe Review’, 'Mayari Literature', 'Masticadores Canada', 'Lapidus Magazine', ‘Friday Flash Fiction’ and ‘Flash Fiction North’. She has also published her first novel ’Annika and the Treasure of Iceland’ featuring a young adult character living with and overcoming a communication anxiety challenge called Selective Mutism (SM) in 2023. Her SM awareness poem book 'Quiet: A Poem about Selective Mutism' is available on Amazon.
When not writing, she can be found doing voluntary work in the community or drinking tea.
