Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan

Shobha Tharoor Srinivasan is an author, poet, and National Award recipient for voice-over narration, whose work spans the worlds of children’s literature and adult contemporary writing. With over a dozen published titles, including the award-winning It’s Time to Rhyme (Aleph Books) and Prince with a Paintbrush (Westland/Red Panda) her writing explores themes ranging from the environment to idiomatic expressions and has been widely recognized, anthologized, and adapted. Her transition from a twenty-year career in non-profit advocacy to a full-time creative life has allowed her to explore the "music" of words in all their forms. Whether she is narrating a documentary or crafting a collection of poems or short stories on the vagaries of life, she is driven by the belief that narratives are often the maps we use to understand ourselves. Srinivasan divides her time between California and India; an itinerant lifestyle that informs the heart of her work.
