Kira Córdova
Hello, Poetry Lighthouse! My name is Kira Córdova and I am a writer and sometimes tall ship sailor from the great seafaring state of Colorado in the United States. I hold a bachelor's degree in Spanish and Outdoor Environmental Education and am currently an MFA candidate in Nature Writing at Western Colorado University. I work in a library and live for the days when patrons ask me to recommend poetry and travel writing, although they usually just ask how to reset their Gmail passwords. I love learning languages and speak terrible French and Russian in addition to Spanish. I hope to someday learn ASL and work as a concert sign language interpreter because I also love dance. I love Ada Limón, Natalie Diaz, Audre Lorde, and Federico Garcia Lorca, among so many other poets, and I write about working on tall ships and going on road trips on my substack Gone Off the Gridlock.
