Heidi Slettedahl

I am a US-UK dual national who spent more than two decades living in the United Kingdom before returning to the US in 2012. I am an academic and university administrator who goes by a slightly different name professionally. My first collection of poetry, Mo(u)rning Rituals, was published by Kelsay Books in 2024, and I have been published in a wide variety of online journals. I strongly believe Margaret Atwood is the world’s best living author, though she pooh poohed me when I told her so. If you haven’t read her poetry, you are missing out. I also dare you to try to read Sarah Freligh’s amazing poem, “Wondrous,” without crying. I’ve never managed it. I live near Rochester, NY with my husband Allan Macpherson and our wonderful and slightly spoiled Springer Spaniel Rosie. I know how to ride a unicycle, badly, and look forward to living up to my potential now that I am nearing retirement.
