Alexandra Giacconi
Hi, I’m Alexandra. I’m originally from Chicago and studied creative writing and filmmaking at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts in New York. I later completed a Master’s in Journalism and International Affairs at Sciences Po in Paris. Since then, I’ve worked in international development and communications with organizations like the World Bank, the OECD, and UNHCR.
My interests span poetry, politics, literature, and philosophy. I enjoy the poetry of Stephen Dunn and Wendell Berry, as well as novels and plays by James Joyce and Samuel Beckett. I’m also passionate about documentary and experimental film, citing influences like Chris Marker, Godfrey Reggio, and Abbas Kiarostami. I spend much of my free time making short films, writing scripts, or going to my local cinema.
I speak French and Italian and have lived in Denmark, Vietnam, Italy, and now France. I love traveling and getting to know cultures through language and food. I’m currently based in Paris, where I work as a social media manager.
