The Calm After the Storm

(The moment before a reconciliation)

The bellicose battleground,

where the verbal skirmish played out,

delivered like a dictator’s diatribe.

Hostile. Confrontational.

Words said. Words unsaid.

All now in retreat,

replaced by subconscious meditation

and the hint of liminality.

Where next?

Prefaced by myocardial repose,

mendicant moods form in the silent aftermath,

as the ashes of warring words ascend

to an ethereal wasteland.

Conversational hiatus.

A breath held—

a prelude to a sigh.
