Laddering
instinct on instinct
a cadence builds in itself
consisting only of frequencies
in their current form its existence
is one of pure immediacy, each rest
imbued with the incantational invitation
to burst forth, the harbour bell rippling over
the water, the lurch that precedes movement as the
gateway to all momentum. It does not concern itself
with stillness. Water is never still as quiet is never
silent, always the indication of live input; the
progressive coupling of opposing sound
and darkness is a school for hearing.
Adding to the substance without
weight. Modulating impulse
into instinct modulating
sound into
light.
