Mother of All Worries

She lives in a house

with a death spiral staircase,

can’t walk anymore

Without a walker.

Worries about her

cloud my mind like a fog,

tragedy about to condense.

Will she fall again,

her Apple Watch not on her wrist?

She protests offers to hire help,

believes the old woman in the mirror

is Wonder Woman,

but instead of transforming,

she spins her family in a cocoon

of paper-thin memories

disintegrating with her.
