Escapism

Today, I need a comedy, a drama, or a fantasy.

Today, I want to laugh about a life not resembling my own—

And yet, uncannily similar.

I want to weep along with the characters who remind me of people I know,

But who truthfully appear to me as unknown.

Tonight, I need to explore the lands of ugly pirates and courteous thieves;

I crave the fight against peculiar monsters,

Along with heroes made of shadow and light.

So, please, take me to that magnificent and fantastical place called cinema.
