Digital world
Only the other day, I shouted at a bot,
‘Listen, I need to speak to a human!’
Chatbot answered quickly,
‘I-will-get-you-to-someone-very-soon’,
in what sounded like a worried voice
or maybe it was just the decibel level.
And then, ‘Hello. I-am-AI. I’m-learning’.
I explain the situation: only a one-off
payment, not every month.
‘I’m-sorry. What-is-your-question?’
‘I only want a one-off payment’.
‘I’m-sorry, I-can’t-answer-that-question.’
And now an AI icon on my iPad
pops up out of the blue.
It promises me the world,
but it will scour my data for training,
offering deepfakes so convincing
they will take the place of reality.
