Always hold your breath

underwater. Untrustworthy 

rivers deceive the living,

while crestfallen spirits

beg for another chance.

Bodies sink / creeks conceal

Avoid lakes, the basins

of lies. Don’t believe 

the trance of tranquility.

Illusions of water create

reality. How much can

we truly see when our

vision is blurred.

Waves crash / oceans flow

Saltwater won’t sting if

you squeeze your eyes

tightly enough. Slivers of

liquid light, drowning, 

   dreaming

of another way 

         to shine.
